December...Yikes!

Apparently I just have no interest in maintaining this blog anymore since I only post once every few months now. :) So much has happened and I missed a few important family events that I really should have documented here.

Here's the recap of the last few months:

September

I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and told I need to lose weight otherwise I will be on a medication called Metformin (very unpleasant stuff) until I do. So far I am down 15 pounds. My mom and I have been trying to stay on the South Beach Diet, it's really not that bad and I am pretty used to eating that way now.

October

My grandmother on my dad's side past away after complications from Chemotherapy. She had cancer in her back & brain by the time they discovered it so she didn't struggle for very long. She was the last grandparent for my generation and it feels weird to only have my parents left now.
Halloween was great, Eric was a storm trooper from Star Wars and Katie was a princess. We did trick or treating up here in Ramona on the one street that everyone seems to go to. It was crazy crowded, almost like a Street Scene atmosphere, wall to wall people crowding a 2 mile stretch of flat, straight streets. As we were walking back to the truck I stepped in dog poo (right in the middle of the street!), which was hilarious for the kids, yet an annoying way for me to end the night.

November

This month wasn't so dramatic, but still went by very quickly. Eric had cub scout stuff almost every weekend this month.
Thanksgiving was up here in Ramona. We had my sister's family and also John's parents and his sister's family here all together. It was nice not to have to choose between which side of the family to be with.

December

Eric turned 9 on the 5th. John and I took Eric and a friend, along with Katie and John's nephew to Boomers for the day. It was cold, but the rain held off until we were driving home. Did anyone know that to drive the bumper cars you have to be 58" tall? I can't believe they don't let kids drive them anymore,I am only about 63" myself! So the two smaller boys had to take turns being a passenger while John or I stayed back with Katie (who was still too small to be a rider). Other than the height limit I think Eric had a great birthday.
It has been one year since our family went through the temple to be sealed on December 16, 2008. This anniversary will no doubt be the highlight of my Christmas season for the rest of my life.

Today

Christmas is 5 days away and like many people I still have shopping to do. It really takes commitment to get to the store from where I live, the drive adds an extra hour or more for driving time.
Eric is out of school for the next two weeks! John has taken next week off and will stay home with Eric and Katie. It's great for me too because I don't have to chauffeur the kids all around San Diego in order to go to work. The week after Christmas my parents are both taking the week off to watch the kids and do fun "grandparent" type stuff. I just realized that I'll be able to listen to my own music while driving, that will be great! I am really tired of the High School Musical 2 soundtrack. :)

And....the countdown to moving from Ramona has finally started. I told John I am going to be seriously looking starting in January. My four month plan here has already turned into 9 months and it's really getting old.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

First of all... I can't believe it has been 9 months since you moved to Ramona. Man where has the time gone? We miss you guys! I was just thinking the other day about the day you were sealed, it was the best part of our christmas to be able to be there.
Also had no idea you were having health problems, Let us know if we can do anything for you. We most likely wont see you before Christmas, so have a wonderful time, and we can't wait for the move count down to begin. We will keep our eyes open for a place. Tell everyone hi.

I was hoping for an update! PCOS isn't fun, sorry to hear that diagnosis for you, but probably an answer of some sorts for you, too. Can't believe it's been 9 months already. Can't wait for you to be back, too! Please let us know if we can help.

9 months???? Seriously?! That just seems so long. Why didn't I realize that? Hey, if you're looking to move back, consider up my Midland Elementary. Then Jon and Eric can continue together. We've decided to move him up there for sure next year.

Either way, it will be nice having you closer!!!
