Feeling Guilty

I nag because I care. Anyone who has been around me long enough knows that I will argue my point until I feel like I've won, but behind the annoying stubbornness I know my point is because I think it will help.

Last week in the car with some friends I argued the point that seat belts should always be worn no matter what the circumstance. I think it is better to be injured by a seat belt than to die in an accident. After a good twenty minute debate I think we ended on the agreement that we don't agree. :)

So...the reason for my guilty conscience is because yesterday I allowed (no, offered) to break my "seat belts always" rule to a friend who really needed a ride. To make a long story short, she needed a ride but didn't have a car seat for her child and I offered to take her home anyway and the child sat on the floor by her legs. It wasn't a long ride at all, maybe a mile at best, but still my rule was broken and I needed to admit that I can't be right about everything ALL the time.

So to my friends who I am sure I annoyed with my rant...I'm sorry I was such a pain. The reason behind it all is that I really do care about you and I wouldn't want you to ever get hurt, seat belts or not. :)

I was trying to keep you annonymous! It wasn't like I was about to let you be in any more pain. I was glad to break the rules. Take care of that toe! :)

Well, Rachel is such a rule breaker, you can easily put all the blame on her and leave yourself guilt free. Ha!!! Just kidding! That was an "ox in the mire" type thing, right!? Serving people sometimes forces out of our comfort zones.

What kind of idiot thinks that the benefits of not being injured by a seat-belt would outweigh the safety provided by its motherly embrace of woven fabric.
